Key Responsibilities:
The primary objective of this role is to assist in the Trade Compliance Functions for Key Accounts, focusing on KPI and Product Reporting.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Collaborating closely with team members and operators to ensure seamless cross-border movement of goods.
  • Accurately determining tariff classifications for all brands supported within the Key Account function, particularly for items moving from the EU.
  • Providing country-specific guidance (for the UK) regarding additional import requirements for stock products, primarily sourced from the EU.
  • Maintaining effective communication with line reporting and offering support to the Head of the function.
  • Assisting with internal projects that require Trade Compliance input or expertise.
  • Conducting audits and monitoring entries to ensure compliance with local import and export regulations, as well as supporting brand KPI audit requirements.
  • Ensuring all operational tasks are completed and followed up in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and organizational policies.
  • Facilitating the import and export of non-stock goods by preparing and supplying necessary documentation and declarations.
  • Liaising with HMRC and aiding in the maintenance of customs procedures.
  • Managing the CITES portal, including the uploading of Import and Re-Export CITES certificates.
  • Identifying and implementing new efficiencies in client workflows in collaboration with the line manager.
  • Reporting any potential sales leads to the line manager for distribution to the sales team.
  • Developing and maintaining written procedures.
  • Ensuring timely generation of reports and KPIs for submission to the line manager for each area of Key Accounts.
  • Performing ad-hoc checks on entries and submitting weekly reports to the line manager and Head of Department.

Qualifications Required:

  • Proven experience in customs or trade compliance within a large organization or brokerage firm, with a comprehensive understanding of UK and EU Customs regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade, including import duties, commodity codes, incoterms, preferences, and valuation.
  • Excellent command of English (both verbal and written) with exceptional communication skills across all levels.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
