About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Critical Care Medicine to join our team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the care of Level 2 and 3 patients referred to and treated by the Critical Care department.
  • Work in conjunction with other critical care consultants to provide clinical care for patients and supervise trainees from other departments.
  • Be responsible for the training and supervision of trainees, including medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, or emergency department staff.
  • Provide high-level consultant input to the supervision of trainees.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • CCT in Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent.
  • Experience in adult critical care medicine and a base discipline.
  • Professional skills in paediatric stabilisation and critical care.
  • Leadership and basic management skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Logical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Flexibility.
  • Thoroughness.
  • Initiative, drive, enthusiasm.
