About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our software engineering team within the Product department at IAG Loyalty. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding the squad, setting high engineering standards, and fostering the growth of both permanent and contract engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership
    • Manage Tech Leads, Software Engineers, and QA Engineers (13 permanent team members, with 4 direct reports)
    • Oversee 50+ contract engineers
  • Standards & Quality
    • Establish and maintain high engineering standards within Product at IAGL
  • Coaching & Development
    • Coach and develop team members, identifying training and mentoring opportunities
    • Recruit new team members with Product Owners and Managers
  • Collaboration & Rotation
    • Collaborate with the product team to rotate individuals across products
    • Build an engineering community of practice
  • Influence & Culture
    • Influence decision-making with an engineering perspective
    • Focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion
    • Elevate the engineering culture across the Product department
Requirements
  • Experienced Leader
    • An Engineering Manager with a proven track record in line managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Passionate Engineer
    • Keeps their own engineering skills up to date to lead others effectively.
  • Strong Coach
    • Enjoys developing and mentoring others.
  • Agile Expert
    • Experience working in an agile, DevSecOps delivery model.
  • Great Communicator
    • Ability to communicate with and influence non-technical colleagues.
  • Collaborative Worker
    • Transparent and able to build strong relationships with product teams.
  • B2C Platform Leader
    • Experience leading engineering on large, complex B2C platforms.
  • Diversity Champion
    • Focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion to build high-performance teams.
  • Travel Experience
    • Experience within the travel industry is a plus.
