Maternity Care Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Maternity Care Assistant to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our Day Assessment Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality antenatal and postnatal care to women and families.
Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the smooth operation of the Maternity Day Assessment Unit, performing administrative tasks, and conducting skilled clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and maternal observations.
We are looking for an individual with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the day-to-day running of the Maternity Day Assessment Unit
- Perform administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping
- Conduct skilled clinical procedures, such as phlebotomy and maternal observations
- Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of women and families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective care
- NVQ/Diploma level 3 in Healthcare or an equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in a maternity setting
- Awareness of current healthcare issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
