Accounts Receivable Assistant

Elevation Accountancy and Finance is seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their team on a permanent, part-time basis. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining the trade sales ledger, issuing invoices and credits, and managing direct debits and payment allocations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Trade Sales Ledger Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer transactions, ensuring timely and efficient processing of invoices and credits.
  • Invoice and Credit Management: Issue invoices and credits to customers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Payment Processing: Manage direct debits and payment allocations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer payments.
  • Debt Collection: Contact customers regarding overdue payments, assisting with debt collection efforts and resolving queries.
  • Month-End Duties: Assist with month-end duties, generating reports on outstanding balances and ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Fees and Charges Ledger: Administer the fees and charges ledger, issuing invoices and credits as necessary.
  • Payment Follow-Up: Manage payments and follow up on overdue balances, ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer payments.
  • Query Resolution: Resolve queries with external bodies, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of customer issues.
  • Refunds and Cash Counts: Process refunds and assist with cash counts and online payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer transactions.
  • Shared Mailboxes: Manage shared mailboxes, ensuring timely and efficient communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Coverage and Communication: Provide coverage for other Accounts Receivable roles as needed, maintaining clear communication with Finance colleagues.
Person Specification:
  • Administration Experience: Hold administration experience within a medium/large size organisation, with a strong understanding of finance systems and processes.
  • Finance Systems: Have experience of finance systems, including posting entries and extracting information, with a strong understanding of financial software and tools.
  • Organisational Skills: Possess good organisational skills with attention to detail, with the ability to work to deadlines and re-prioritise tasks as necessary.
