About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at North Devon Hospice. As a Palliative Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients and their families at the most difficult and vulnerable time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, evidence-based, person-centered nursing care to patients and their families, working within your scope of practice and in accordance with hospice policies and procedures.
- Assess patient needs and develop care plans that reflect their physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Promote patient and carer individuality and empowerment by establishing relationships and involving them in the planning and delivery of care.
- Support patients and families to provide feedback about our services and use this to support our continued improvement and development.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive records of patient care.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Ensure the safe custody and administration of all medicines, including controlled drugs, in accordance with hospice policies, procedures, professional NMC guidelines, and legal requirements.
About You
- You will have current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse and evidence of continued professional development.
- You will have post-registration experience in end-of-life care, palliative care, or a related field, and an understanding of palliative and end-of-life care nursing issues and patient pathways.
