Countrystyle Recycling is seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our Rollon/Skips department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective daily transport plans to ensure business requirements and customer satisfaction are met.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage daily transport plans to optimize fleet resources and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Review and allocate jobs for the Roll-on/skip fleet to maximize operational and logistical performance.
- Liaise with drivers to ensure effective vehicle resources are available and safe vehicle operations are maintained.
- Support the optimization of fleet resources and operations to improve profitability and customer service.
- Assist with the implementation of road transport compliance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage a team of drivers in line with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers to resolve customer service queries.
- Ensure all queries within the transport operation are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with fleet workshops to maintain vehicle defects and ensure fleet vehicles are available for scheduled services.
- Liaise with the Fleet Compliance team to investigate road transport accidents.
- Liaise with the Health and Safety team to investigate personal injury accidents and conduct risk assessments.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Able to prioritize workload and work under pressure.
- Good geographic knowledge of London and the South East.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Full understanding of driver hours and driving regulations.
- Previous experience in a planning role in a busy transport office environment.
- Experience of dealing with internal and external customers and service providers.
- GCSE grade A-C level education.
- Knowledge of AMCS operating systems.
- HGV Licence.
- Full understanding of the London Lorry Control, ULEZ, and Congestion zone rules and regulations.
- Previous experience in the Waste industry.
- CPC.
