About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Countrystyle Recycling. As a key member of our Rollon/Skips department, you will be responsible for developing an effective, profitable, and compliant daily transport plan and managing fleet resources to ensure business requirements and customer satisfaction are delivered at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a daily transport plan that maximizes operational and logistical performance.
  2. Review, allocate, and schedule jobs for the Roll-on/skip fleet to ensure efficient use of resources.
  3. Collaborate with the Head of Rollon to optimize fleet resources and operations, improving profitability and customer service.
  4. Manage a team of drivers in line with Company policies and procedures.
  5. Ensure timely resolution of queries within the transport operation.
  6. Coordinate with fleet workshops to maintain vehicle defects.
  7. Liaise with the Fleet Compliance team regarding road transport accidents.
  8. Liaise with the Health and Safety team regarding personal injury accidents and risk assessments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Strong organizational and planning skills.
  2. Excellent communication and people management skills.
  3. Able to prioritize workload and work under pressure.
  4. Good geographic knowledge of London and the South East.
  5. Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  6. Full understanding of driver hours and driving regulations.
  7. Previous experience in a planning role in a busy transport office environment.
  8. Experience of dealing with internal and external customers and service providers.
  9. GCSE grade A-C level education.
  10. Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude to others.
  11. Demonstrate teamwork and support of others.
  12. Versatility and willingness to learn.
