Commercial Services, representing ONS, is tasked with overseeing all procurement and contract management activities within the organization. We are in search of an Associate Commercial Practitioner to join our team.
In this capacity, you will assist the Commercial Director in realizing the vision of becoming a pivotal partner in strategic business decision-making, enhancing value through innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to our objectives. Your role will involve providing commercial assistance to ONS stakeholders, facilitating the achievement of business objectives through market insights, effective communication, and teamwork. You will play a vital role in ensuring value for money through innovation, cost efficiency, and sustainable practices, with fairness and transparency embedded in our operations.
Commercial Services operates within the Finance Planning and Performance (FPP) Directorate.
The Government Commercial Function outlines the operational standards for all government departments, ensuring uniformity in commercial behaviors and procurement practices across the government. Commercial Services adheres to these standards, benchmarks, and training resources to uphold best practices. Our strategic goal is to secure optimal value for ONS through the delivery of commercial excellence.
Role Responsibilities
You will collaborate with colleagues from Commercial Services and engage with stakeholders across the organization to identify demand and manage effective commercial activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating comprehensive end-to-end commercial activities from pre-sourcing to contract management for lower complexity contracts.
- Maintaining robust relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the Sourcing team in executing high-volume procurements in compliance with organizational standards.
- Overseeing the Commercial Pipeline to ensure equitable work distribution within the team.
- Identifying opportunities for Value for Money and driving quality procurement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in coordinating and executing tasks within agreed timelines to achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in working strategically to attain successful results as part of a team.
- Understanding of the actions necessary to promote Value for Money and operational efficiency.
- Experience in relationship management and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
