BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated and talented Submarine Communications Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Project Group, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, testing, and commissioning the largest and most advanced submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy.

You will be working alongside our Astute Class and Dreadnought Class Submarines to provide a powerful and secure deterrent for the United Kingdom 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your contributions will be instrumental in developing integrated engineering solutions focused on the Internal Communications Systems of our current and future classes of Submarine.

Key Responsibilities

As a Submarine Communications Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Developing integrated engineering solutions for Internal Communications Systems
  • Collaborating with experts in radio systems, IP-based devices, and fibre optics
  • Contributing to high-integrity designs with knowledge of electrical principles, network architecture, and protocols
  • Calculating and reporting on component selection and designs for Human Machine Interfaces
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering biased towards Radio or Network design, or Physics with a strong bias towards Radio Frequency or Fibre Optic Engineering. You must also be returning to university to complete your degree.
