BAE Systems is seeking a talented Graduate Telecoms and Communication Engineer to join our Submarines Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, testing, and commissioning the largest and most advanced submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing integrated engineering solutions focused on the Internal Communications Systems of our current and future classes of Submarine. This will involve working across the breadth of the engineering design lifecycle to support current projects, such as our Dreadnought class and Astute class submarines, and contributing to high-integrity designs with your base knowledge of electrical principles, network architecture, and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement integrated engineering solutions for Internal Communications Systems.
  • Work with experts in the field to design and develop solutions for complex technical questions and in-service upgrades.
  • Contribute to the development of high-integrity designs, including calculations and reports on component selection and designs for Human Machine Interfaces.
  • Collaborate with the team to analyze impacts on Communications systems and develop solutions to optimize performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering biased towards Radio or Network design, or Physics with a strong bias towards Radio Frequency or Fibre Optic Engineering.
