Job Title: Communications Engineer

Job Type: Contract

Location: Hybrid - 2 days per fortnight on site in Barrow-in-Furness

Rate: £55.25 Per Hour (Umbrella Rate - Inside IR35)

The Role:

  • Develop comprehensive design documentation sets, technical justifications, and specifications for RAN (Radio Access Network) solutions, aligning with industry standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reviews and contracts, meeting client requirements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate in the creation of test specifications that support design, development, and qualification contracts, as well as system integration facility validation testing.
  • Support test and commissioning teams, and participate in build activities, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end design process, providing input on technical matters.
  • Interact with suppliers and customers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Provide expertise on maintenance and spares strategies, ensuring optimal product performance and operational compliance.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to ensure a safe and compliant product.

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge of Tetra radio systems is essential.
  • Technical expertise in telecommunications, including voice and data technologies.
  • Understanding of radio VHF/UHF principles.
  • Fault diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of radio systems, equipment, and radio access networks.
  • Understanding of RF spectrum management.
  • Experience as a RAN (Radio Access Network) Solution Architect.
