Bridgend, Bridgend county borough, United Kingdom Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Full time

Position Overview

The Pharmacy Department at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking dedicated and passionate registered Pharmacy Technicians to enhance our pharmacy team.

As a Band 4 Technician, you will play a crucial role within the multidisciplinary team, both at the ward level and in our automated, Technician-led dispensary. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across various clinical specialties, collaborating closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

We are committed to advancing the Technician role and provide exceptional in-house training. You will be supported in your professional development, with opportunities to pursue qualifications in accredited checking, clinical trials, and medicines management.

Candidates must possess a BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice, or equivalent qualifications that allow registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. We also welcome applicants who are currently pursuing these qualifications or are transitioning from other sectors.

Part-time employment options are available.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include dispensing medications for inpatients, outpatients, and discharges within our pharmacy department. We are dedicated to the growth of the Pharmacy Technician role, and you will have the chance to achieve both the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification and the Medicines Management qualification. Once accredited, you will gain experience working at the ward level, developing the skills necessary to manage medications more autonomously.

Responsibilities will include evaluating patients' own medications and accurately providing the necessary medicines for their hospital stay and discharge.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to ensure an efficient and safe pharmacy service for our patients.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this position; however, applications from English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged.
