Position Title: Nursery Practitioner

Overview:

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to contribute to our organization.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care and education to children aged 0-5 years within a supportive and engaging setting.

A true passion for nurturing young minds, along with strong communication abilities and teamwork skills, is essential for this position.

This role demands creativity, patience, and a dedication to fostering the comprehensive development of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure a secure, nurturing, and engaging atmosphere for children to learn and thrive.
  2. Design and execute age-appropriate activities that encourage children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
  3. Monitor and evaluate children's development, maintaining precise records of their progress and any issues.
  4. Establish positive connections with children, parents, and coworkers, promoting open dialogue and teamwork.
  5. Assist children with personal hygiene tasks, including diapering/toileting, handwashing, and feeding.
  6. Encourage positive behavior management strategies, creating a respectful and inclusive environment.
  7. Maintain a clean, organized nursery space that is conducive to learning and play.
  8. Comply with health and safety standards, including maintaining appropriate ratios, conducting risk assessments, and implementing emergency protocols.
  9. Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  10. Act as a primary caregiver for a designated group of children, offering personalized care and support as necessary.

Qualifications:

  1. Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Diploma in Childcare and Education).
  2. Prior experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery or early years environment.
  3. Solid understanding of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
  6. Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
  7. A positive demeanor, patience, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children.
  8. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
  9. Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and a willingness to undertake necessary training.
  10. Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or readiness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Paediatric First Aid Certification.
  2. Training in Safeguarding and Child Protection.
  3. Additional training in areas such as SEN (Special Educational Needs), behavior management, or language development.
  4. Experience with children from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Working Hours: Full Time / Part Time Available
