Localization Specialist for German Market

We are seeking a highly skilled Localization Specialist to join our global team at Wise. As a Localization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our product is accessible and user-friendly for German-speaking customers.

About the Role

The Localization Specialist will be responsible for localizing and adapting our content to meet the needs of the German market. This includes translating product descriptions, marketing materials, and support content from English to German, while maintaining the correct meaning, context, and tone of the source text.

Key Responsibilities

  • Localize product, marketing, and support content from English to German
  • Proofread and edit translated content for linguistic accuracy and clarity
  • Collaborate with the localization team to promote synergies between markets and refine tools, workflows, and processes
  • Evaluate and report on vendor quality for continuous improvement
  • Perform QA and liaise with marketers, product owners, engineers, and other stakeholders to investigate, fix, or overcome issues and challenges
  • Define and ensure a consistent tone of voice across all touchpoints
  • Identify and address growth opportunities with German-speaking audiences
  • Establish and maintain language glossary, guidelines, and terminology for other language stakeholders and teams

Requirements

  • German native speaker with over a year of experience in localization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with CAT, TMS, and/or MT tools, as well as best practices in quality management processes and workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality localization
  • Analytical mind and ability to express it constructively to reach the best outcome for customers
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment with concurring deadlines
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness to accurately convey cultural nuances in work
  • At least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of a second language
  • Experience in transcription of marketing campaigns
  • Certified translator
  • Experience working in a global team
