Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Pharmacist Specialist to join our Clinical Pharmacy Service at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in advancing patient care and driving quality improvement initiatives.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and participating in clinical audit and quality improvement work for the pharmacy clinical service. You will also provide clinical commitment, standardize clinical practice, and deliver training to pharmacy staff in relation to approved clinical pharmacy policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in clinical audit and quality improvement work for the pharmacy clinical service
  • Provide clinical commitment and standardize clinical practice
  • Deliver training to pharmacy staff in relation to approved clinical pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Act as a professional secretary for the General Medication Workflow Optimisation group
  • Work closely with the Depute Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Services
  • Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Clinical Services
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Registered Pharmacist with 1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Registered Independent prescriber or willingness to complete
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
  • Member of the RPS faculty
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to area of practice
  • Maintains a broad level of pharmacy practice
  • Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the clinical governance agenda
  • Understands national and local priorities
  • Knowledge of regulations and legislation relevant to area of practice
