Principal Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer to join our dynamic data team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and building high-quality data pipelines to power cutting-edge genAI products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of our data engineering roadmap and shape the future of our data architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust, scalable solutions.
  • Design, build, maintain, and upgrade data pipelines and self-service tooling to provide clean, efficient results.
  • Promote data governance through documentation, observability, and controls.
  • Perform code reviews and promote the adoption of tools and best practices across the team.
Requirements:
  • Strong background and expertise in real-time data engineering and cloud technologies.
  • Ability to apply expertise to business problems to generate value.
  • Confidence in taking a project brief and drawing out requirements, designing and building consensus around architectural plans.
  • Experience with AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Python, Kafka/Kinesis, and Airflow.
  • Essential skills: great Python skills, previous experience with real-time data streaming platforms, experience handling and validating real-time data, experience with stream processing frameworks, and experience mentoring team members and colleagues.
