About the Role

As a Data Engineering Leader, you will be the primary data engineering subject matter expert and shape the data engineering roadmap. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust, scalable solutions. You will design, build, maintain and upgrade data pipelines and self-service tooling to provide clean, efficient results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build the data architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust, scalable solutions
  • Design, build, maintain and upgrade data pipelines and self-service tooling
  • Promote data governance through documentation, observability and controls
  • Perform code reviews
  • Promote the adoption of tools and best practices across the team

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background and expertise in real-time data engineering and cloud technologies, and be able to apply this expertise to business problems to generate value. You will be confident in taking a project brief and drawing out requirements, designing and building consensus around architectural plans.

Tech Stack

AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Python, Kafka/Kinesis and Airflow.

Essential Skills

  • Great Python skills
  • Previous experience with real-time data streaming platforms such as Kafka/Kinesis/Confluent etc.
  • Experience handling and validating real-time data
  • Experience with stream processing frameworks
  • Experience mentoring team members and colleagues
