Role Overview
The Head of Physical Security plays a crucial role in safeguarding Verifone's physical assets, personnel, and visitors. This position encompasses the management of access control systems, video surveillance, and physical security measures, along with coordinating with security personnel to uphold a secure environment. The ideal candidate will possess a background in security systems management, a meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to respond promptly and effectively to security incidents.
Remote work options are available in the UK, or for those who prefer an office setting, we have our EMEA headquarters conveniently located near a major airport.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control Oversight : Administer and monitor authentication systems, including key cards, biometric scanners, and PIN codes. Maintain physical barriers such as doors, locks, turnstiles, fencing, gates, and barricades. Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless integration and functionality of access control software. Surveillance Management : Supervise the installation, upkeep, and monitoring of surveillance systems (CCTV and IP cameras). Utilize Video Management Systems (VMS) for real-time monitoring and historical footage review. Implement motion detection and analytics software to identify and address potential security threats. Coordination of Security Personnel : Work closely with stationary guards, mobile patrols, and response teams to ensure comprehensive security coverage. Establish and maintain security checkpoints, ensuring they are adequately staffed and equipped. Conduct regular training sessions for security personnel on new protocols and technologies. Localized Access Control Management : Oversee localized authentication systems for high-security areas, including room-specific key cards and biometric scanners. Ensure sensitive areas are monitored through local surveillance efforts. Integrate local access controls with facility-wide security systems for cohesive monitoring and response. Incident Management and Reporting : Respond promptly to security breaches, alarms, and other incidents. Conduct thorough investigations and document findings in detailed reports. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary. Security Policy Development and Compliance : Formulate, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments. Technology and System Enhancements : Stay informed about the latest security technologies and industry trends. Recommend and implement upgrades to security systems and protocols. Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of security equipment.Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or a related field Relevant certifications (e.g. CPP, PSP) are advantageous Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in physical security, access control, or a related field Proficient in security systems management, including access control and video surveillance technologies. Familiarity with Video Management Systems (VMS) and security analytics software Excellent communication and coordination skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to security incidents Willingness to travel globally as required to Verifone locations Ability to stand or walk for extended periods Capability to lift and carry security equipment as needed Willingness to work in various weather conditions and at different times of the day or nightOur Commitment to Diversity
