Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at CMS2 in Portsmouth. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing engineering activities for In Service Support Projects / Spares, working directly with the ISS Delivery Manager, and supporting the ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers to ensure the product is delivered to the specification of the Product/Project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage design improvement/obsolescence activities relating to assigned projects, providing technical guidance in line with the Product Specification to engineering resources assigned, including managing the flow of information between multiple departments.
  2. Define the content of standard project documentation (technical, operation, maintenance manual, etc.).
  3. Report on the technical content of the project to the ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers.
  4. Identify technical risks to the ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers and work on appropriate strategies for risk management.
  5. Provide technical support for the ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers in customer communications during project delivery.
  6. Track activities to project plans and budgets, regularly reporting to the ISS Delivery Manager, ISS Technical Manager, and ISS Project Managers on progress as required.
  7. Raise purchase requisitions for all project materials.
  8. Provide technical support for procurement, production, and quality throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely response to action items.
  9. Liaison with Production team, lead issue resolution, report progress to ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers during build/manufacturing phases.
  10. Provide support to SQE and Quality team as required to resolve quality issues, including raising formal requests, fault finding, and test support.
  11. Support engineering design as required by the project.
  12. Lead testing and commissioning of equipment working with the Test Technicians and Commissioning Engineers as required by the project.
  13. Ensure project activities are delivered as defined by the project manager, including ensuring design reviews are held, FMEAs are conducted, and appropriate test plans are in place.
  14. Maintain continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date.
  15. Carry out any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Requirements:

Essential:

  1. HND or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or related subject.
  2. Experience of working in a Mechanical/Systems engineering environment.

Desirable:

  1. Experience of working on multiple projects.
  2. Practical competence in mechanical/systems assembly.

Travel Requirements:

  1. The duties of this appointment relate to the UK but you may be required to travel when required by the Company.
