Account Director - Downstream

Position Overview

The Account Director at Willis Towers Watson will play a pivotal role in delivering specialized insurance brokerage services tailored for clients in the power and energy sectors. This position involves assessing client requirements, engaging in negotiations with underwriters, and securing insurance solutions that align with client expectations. You will collaborate closely with clients to formulate risk management strategies and provide advisory services that support their business goals.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our team, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Comprehending clients' business operations and risk management needs, and offering solutions that address those needs through continuous service.
  • Understanding and applying the business unit's policies and procedures, and providing explanations when necessary.
  • Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with clients, retail offices, and (Re)Insurers.
  • Offering technical expertise and industry knowledge as required.
  • Leveraging expertise from within the team and across the organization to benefit clients.
  • Engaging with clients to foster robust relationships.
  • Identifying suitable solutions, structuring, pricing, and placement strategies that cater to clients' needs while ensuring profitable business outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in Natural Resources Insurance, either in Broking or Underwriting.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, develop strategies, and design programs effectively.
  • Experience in cultivating and enhancing relationships within the Natural Resources Downstream market, both locally and internationally.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the capacity to influence in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and budgeting abilities.
  • High level of business acumen and financial insight, with an understanding of corporate strategy and change management.
  • Facilitation skills that promote inclusivity and collaboration, adept at managing ambiguity and achieving consensus.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
  • Evidence of a highly professional and credible approach across the industry.
  • Preferably holds professional qualifications, such as ACII or an equivalent, or possesses relevant industry experience.
