Radiologist Consultant Specializing in Urological Imaging and Interventional Techniques

Are you an enthusiastic radiologist seeking a dynamic and expanding radiology division? Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers an excellent opportunity for you.
Our department is equipped with advanced technology, including three 1.5T Siemens MRI scanners, five state-of-the-art CT scanners, and a modern Nuclear Medicine SPECT CT suite. We emphasize a collaborative environment with a strong support system, encouraging all team members to achieve their professional aspirations. We provide and promote educational and training opportunities to enhance your expertise.
Currently, our team comprises 18 general radiologists with diverse subspecialties, such as breast imaging, gastrointestinal imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, urology, pediatrics, and more. Our radiology services are centralized at the main site, offering CT, MRI, ultrasound, plain film, nuclear medicine, DEXA, mammography, and non-vascular interventional procedures. The recent refurbishment of our Central Radiology department has resulted in a cutting-edge diagnostic facility, supported by a robust capital replacement strategy. We utilize the latest PACS technology with Agfa Enterprise Imaging, upgraded recently across our facilities. Additionally, we are investing in artificial intelligence solutions to enhance our services.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive Diagnostic Radiology Services at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, including CT, MRI, plain film, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound. A keen interest in urological imaging and proficiency in non-vascular interventional radiology procedures is essential.
There may be occasions requiring diagnostic reporting for patients at community sites. We currently operate a Radiologist of the Day system, which is under review as we expand our consultant team. Our goal is to enhance efficiency and minimize disruptions for individual consultants.
