Senior Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant

Position Overview
Senior Consultant in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery with a focus on limb lengthening and deformity correction.
We are seeking applications for a permanent consultant position specializing in limb lengthening and deformity correction, with additional expertise in Osteogenesis Imperfecta and vascular conditions. This role can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, with the job plan being flexible and subject to discussion with the selected candidate.
This position is primarily located within a leading children's hospital, which is committed to enhancing collaborations with various paediatric and adult orthopaedic facilities. The successful applicant should be open to cross-site working, which may become a requirement in the future.
The department has established strong partnerships with other orthopaedic centers, and there is a vision to further develop these connections, potentially leading to increased collaborative efforts across sites. The ideal candidate should be prepared for cross-site responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
This role is designated for a senior consultant in paediatric orthopaedic surgery with a specialized interest in:
Complex limb lengthening and deformity correction.
This is a full-time role at a prominent children's hospital. The successful candidate will inherit an existing practice structure, including a multidisciplinary team and patient caseload. There will be opportunities to provide orthopaedic care for patients with osteogenesis imperfecta and vascular issues, as well as to develop specific clinical interests in collaboration with the lead clinician and consultant team.
In addition to extensive theoretical and practical experience with standard and advanced techniques in limb deformity correction and bone lengthening, this position requires a solid understanding of general paediatric orthopaedics and trauma care.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in paediatric orthopaedic surgery, having completed fellowship training in this specialty along with sub-specialty training in limb lengthening and deformity correction for both upper and lower limbs. Previous experience at the consultant level in this field is preferred, particularly familiarity with both external and internal lengthening devices.
