Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to become the team leader for the Occupational Therapy Team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, covering Rosemary and Sherwood Wards and Reablement visits in the community.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage designated occupational therapy service within the Acute Care Pathway-South West
  • Be responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of occupational therapy within designated services - Rosemary/Sherwood Wards and Reablement Team
  • Provide specialist advice to occupational therapy staff on service users with complex needs, using evidence-based, person-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions
  • Provide professional leadership to a designated team, including recruitment, supervision, and development of occupational therapy staff within the multi-disciplinary context
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy input to planning, development, and evaluation of clinical services within the Kingsley Unit, holding responsibility for defined projects
  • Be responsible for the occupational therapy budget
  • Be responsible for departmental policy and service development, interpreting related codes of practice, policies, and professional guidelines relevant to forensic specialist areas
  • Work as part of the Operational Management Team in the management, development, and improvement of designated services

  • Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Postgraduate training relevant to mental health
  • Short specialist course relevant to mental health
