Senior Psychiatric Consultant

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Liverpool

Salary: Up to £154,000 per annum + £8,400 car allowance

An exceptional opportunity for a Senior Psychiatric Consultant to become part of a well-established team focused on delivering impactful care for women facing intricate mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in collaborative efforts with care coordinators, commissioners, families, and various services/agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Directorate policies and procedures in alignment with statutory requirements.
  • Implement the Mental Health Act and liaise with relevant authorities as necessary.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partnerships.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities related to patient care, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and timely discharge summaries.
  • Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and adhere to established codes of conduct.
  • Uphold Section 12(2) and approved clinician status.

* The facility operates a two-tier on-call system, with the first tier managed by associate specialists and agency personnel. The post holder will be expected to participate in the second tier hospital on-call as the designated Responsible Clinician.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • MRCPsych or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Capability to assume full and independent responsibility for patient clinical care.
  • Possession of Section 12(2) approval to practice in England and Approved clinician status.
  • Experience in General Adult settings and working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Background in acute inpatient or community settings, with a focus on risk assessment and management.
