Experienced Maintenance Engineer Wanted for Kingswinford Site

Candidates with a proven track record in multi-skilled engineering are encouraged to apply for this exciting opportunity. The successful individual will join a dynamic team at our client's site in Kingswinford, working on a permanent nights basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead maintenance efforts during breakdowns, utilizing skills and experience to ensure effective resolution.
  2. Ensure maintenance is carried out in line with PPM schedules, identifying and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  3. Respond quickly to breakdowns, identifying root causes and suggesting improvements to prevent future occurrences.
  4. Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager/Principal Engineer, collaborating with the operations department to minimize plant disruption.
  5. Adhere to engineering standards and good hygiene practices, highlighting areas for improvement.
  6. Ensure all activities are conducted within health and safety guidelines, reporting any issues to the Engineering Shift Manager/Principal Engineer.
  7. Timely reporting of Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, and Environmental concerns.
  8. Demonstrate basic fault-finding techniques to identify root causes of issues.
  9. Raise Stock and Non-Stock request forms as necessary.
  10. Utilize the CMMS system for spare parts, logging and completing jobs efficiently.
Requirements:
  1. Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
  2. Solid engineering experience, preferably within food manufacturing.
  3. Familiarity with process machinery or equivalent equipment, with the ability to fault-find.
  4. Mechanical fitting skills, with machining, welding, and fabrication experience advantageous.
  5. Ability to mentor colleagues.
  6. Self-motivated attitude, with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
  7. Proactive individual with a can-do attitude, keen to make a difference.
  8. Industrial refrigeration experience desirable but not essential.
  9. Desirable IEE 17th or 18th edition.
  10. Desirable Advanced Electrical qualification.
  11. Desirable good knowledge of PLCs, Variable speed drives, and control systems.
