Senior Business Analyst - Energy Trading Systems

Overview:

Intec Select is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to spearhead the analysis, design, and implementation of improvements to our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems. The successful candidate will possess a profound understanding of ETRM platforms, outstanding analytical skills, and a strategic approach to enhance innovation and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the assessment of intricate business requirements, outlining processes and suggesting enhancements to ETRM systems that align with business goals.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between business units and IT, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Design and supervise the deployment of sophisticated ETRM solutions, including tailored functionalities, to improve trading operations and risk management.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of new system features, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and fulfill business requirements prior to implementation.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior analysts, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a technical business analyst capacity within the energy trading sector.
  • Proven experience with Endur/Findur, including the ability to analyze and resolve complex business challenges while understanding their architecture and customization options.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy trading and risk management (ETRM) Front-to-Back business processes, including trade exchange integration, trade capture, trade valuation, confirmations, invoicing, and risk reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL (SQL Server or Oracle) is essential, with additional knowledge of Python, Java, or similar scripting languages being advantageous.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Financial and Physical North American Power and Gas Markets.
  • Understanding of US or EU Renewables Trading.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities, with a proven history of leading large-scale ETRM implementation or enhancement initiatives.
  • Experience in designing in-house ETRMs or transitioning to different ETRMs is highly desirable.
