Senior Business Analyst - Energy Trading Systems

Overview:

Intec Select is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to spearhead the analysis, design, and execution of enhancements for our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems. This pivotal role requires a profound understanding of ETRM platforms, coupled with exceptional analytical skills and a strategic approach to foster innovation and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the examination of intricate business requirements, mapping processes, and proposing enhancements to ETRM systems to align with organizational goals.
  • Act as the main point of contact between business units and IT, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Design and supervise the implementation of sophisticated ETRM solutions, including tailored functionalities to improve trading operations and risk management.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of new system features, ensuring they adhere to high-quality standards and meet business requirements prior to deployment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a technical business analyst capacity within the energy trading industry.
  • Proven experience with Endur/Findur, including the ability to analyze and resolve complex business challenges, along with a solid understanding of their architecture and customization capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of ETRM Front-to-Back business processes, including trade exchange integration, trade capture, trade valuation, confirmations, invoicing, and risk reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of T-SQL (SQL Server or Oracle) is essential, with additional familiarity in Python, Java, or similar scripting languages being advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Financial and Physical North American Power and Gas Markets.
  • Knowledge of US or EU Renewables Trading.
  • Exceptional project management abilities, demonstrated through a successful track record of leading large-scale ETRM implementation or enhancement initiatives.
  • Experience in designing in-house ETRMs or transitioning to different ETRMs is highly desirable.
