About the Role

Singh and Jones Ltd, a well-established facade contractor, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team based in London. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for providing design solutions and materials for a wide range of projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide design solutions and materials for various projects across the UK
  • Lead and mentor the regional design team to ensure high-quality designs and timely project delivery
  • Work closely with the senior management team to deliver project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Request and analyze specific design information to create General Arrangement (GA) designs
  • Lead own project work and deliver results on time, while recording and documenting each design process
  • Manage design variations and collaborate with other teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Attend pre-design and site setup meetings to ensure project requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of various facade systems, including curtain wall, stick system, punch hole, and unitized systems
  • Mentor and manage a team of internal and external designers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality designs
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments by attending facade-related courses and workshops
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facade design and a sound knowledge of curtain wall, stick system, punch hole, and unitized systems. Relevant qualifications in Architectural Technology and an MSc in Facades are desirable. The successful candidate will be able to convey strong leadership and project design management skills.
