About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Coastal West Sussex Care Delivery Service. The successful candidate will be based at our Community Assessment and Treatment service team at The Bedale Centre, Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team that consists of other Consultants, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and more. The team cares for adults of working age from Bognor Regis and the surrounding areas.

The Trust strives to maximise clinical time for doctors, providing admin support to ensure a better work-life balance. On appointment, you will have the opportunity to join the Trust-wide consultant network and access peer support from colleagues in West Sussex.

About the Team

The Coastal West Sussex Care Delivery Service is a dynamic team that provides high-quality care to adults of working age. We are committed to flexible working opportunities and provide our staff with working patterns that enable greater control over their working lives.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, and up to £8,000 relocation allowance. The RRP payment is paid in instalments, with £5,000 paid on appointment, £5,000 at 12 months, £6,500 at 30 months, and £8,500 at 48 months. The payment is pro rata for part-time employees.

Key Responsibilities

You will work with other services in the local area, including the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment team, the Liaison team, and acute in-patient services. There is a separate community service for older persons and those with dementia.

This role can also support any interest in research, development, medical education, or special interests that you may have. We strongly believe in creating roles that provide a service but also give you the opportunity to develop your own areas of special interest.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with:

  • MB BS qualification
  • GMC registration
  • Entry on the specialist register or within 6 months
  • AC approval or within 3 months
  • Excellent knowledge of the speciality

Desirable Criteria

We would welcome applications from candidates with:

  • Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit, or service improvement
  • Good standing with the GMC
