Key Responsibilities

As an Educational Support Specialist, your role will encompass:

  • Addressing the personal requirements of students and executing associated individual programs, focusing on social, health, hygiene, and welfare aspects.
  • Collaborating with the classroom instructor and Inclusion Manager to facilitate the execution of personalized planning and objectives for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Coordinating with relevant external SEN or health professionals to ensure that recommendations for individual SEN students are effectively put into practice.
  • Overseeing and assisting SEN students to guarantee their safety and engagement in learning activities.
  • Building positive relationships with all students, serving as a role model, and being attentive to their unique needs.
  • Encouraging the inclusion and acceptance of every student.

In alignment with reasonable adjustments, it may occasionally be necessary to guide Educational Support Specialists in addressing students' intimate care requirements in accordance with the academy's Intimate Care Policy, while ensuring their health, safety, and personal dignity.

Desired Qualifications

  • Qualifications equivalent to GCSE Level or higher.
  • An understanding of students facing social and emotional challenges that may influence their behavior.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software applications.
