Director of FEP Methods Development

Aspire Life Sciences Search is partnering with a leading biotechnology company to find a highly skilled Director of FEP Methods Development. This company is at the forefront of drug discovery, leveraging cutting-edge technology to design innovative drug candidates for critical diseases.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our FEP Methods Development team. As a Director, you will be responsible for developing and representing technical expertise in free energy methods, implementing a scientific and in-depth methodology, and setting the team up for success. Your role will encompass three main missions:

  • Developing and Representing Technical Expertise in Free Energy Methods
  • Implementing a Scientific and In-depth Methodology
  • Setting the Team for Success

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of four people dedicated to free energy calculations
  • Developing free energy methods and mentoring team members
  • Overseeing projects from early stages to pre-clinical phases
  • Representing the team externally, engaging with major pharmaceutical companies and other key stakeholders

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in free energy methods
  • In-depth knowledge of atomistic simulations, physical-chemistry, and statistical mechanics
  • Experience managing PhDs and postdocs, with the ability to oversee a team of 6 to 10 people
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to deliver value for short and long-term endeavors
  • A can-do attitude, solution-finding mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment
