Position: Youth Support Specialist

Salary: £28,559 - £32,985 (including sleep allowance) with additional overtime opportunities

Location: Spalding area

Work Schedule: Full-time (1 on 2 off shift pattern)

Shift Hours: 7.30am - 11pm, sleep from 11pm - 7am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young individuals to engage in activities and take ownership of their lives according to their age.
  • Maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the residential setting.
  • Address challenging behaviors effectively when necessary.
  • Safeguard the health and welfare of children and young people.
  • Provide essential support to promote independence and well-being.
  • Ensure a safe living environment for all residents.
  • Stay informed about each individual's care plan, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
  • Manage challenging behaviors with empathy and safety.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required for transporting young individuals as needed.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People is advantageous.
  • Ability to commute to the designated area is essential.
