As a Senior Psychiatric Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dedicated team within a well-established multidisciplinary environment. This position offers a unique chance to significantly impact the lives of individuals facing persistent mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee complex case management and ensure adherence to mental health legislation.
- Develop personalized care plans and treatment strategies tailored to the unique needs of each service user.
- Provide guidance on evidence-based practices and treatment efficacy.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with care coordinators, families, and various agencies to enhance service delivery.
- Lead clinical governance initiatives and maintain high standards of care within the facility.
- Manage the service user care pathway from initial assessment through to discharge.
On-Call Duties:
The role includes participation in a structured on-call system, with responsibilities as the secondary on-call clinician, ensuring continuity of care during colleague absences.
Candidate Requirements:
- Possession of an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a valid license to practice.
- MRCPsych or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage clinical responsibilities.
- Section 12(2) approval for practice in England and Approved Clinician status.
- Experience in General Adult or rehabilitation psychiatry, with a background in multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Familiarity with acute inpatient or community settings, particularly in risk assessment and management.
Work Environment:
You will be part of a dynamic team focused on providing inpatient rehabilitation for men with mental health conditions, facilitating their transition to community living.
