About the Role

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our team at a secondary alternative provision in the Salford area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching English to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English to secondary aged pupils with SEMH needs in a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants to manage challenging behavior and engage students in learning.
  • Collaborate with school management, parents, and external professionals to ensure student success.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
  • Experience teaching English to students with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate and overseas police clearances (if applicable).
