About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our pastoral team as a Secondary Head of Year. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring outstanding pastoral support for all students within the year group, fostering a culture that enables all students to maximise their achievements across the spectrum of school life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional pastoral support to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student outcomes and achievement
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure seamless student support
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of excellence and high aspirations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral leadership role, preferably in a secondary school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Passion for education and a commitment to improving student outcomes
