About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic sourcing programs for defined categories, across a number of NHS Trusts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead strategic sourcing programs for defined categories, taking the lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories.
  • Support the Category Director and team in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings across a large number of Member Trusts, by analyzing current spend information to develop procurement strategies.
  • Ensure contract compliance across the LPP, pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key.
  • Work with the Category Director and team in developing networks by providing input into appropriate LPP projects, and liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance in the use of agreed standardised and compliant products and services.
Requirements
  • Registered full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
  • Educated to degree level and above or equivalent in-depth experience
  • Masters level qualified or equivalent in-depth experience
  • Senior specialist A/I commercial / industry experience in procurement and supply in a senior management role
  • Significant senior procurement experience
  • Significant experience & understanding and application of strategic I sourcing methodologies
