About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our primary healthcare team at Sherrington Park Medical Practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care, as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs.
- Conduct cytology and wound care procedures, including ulcer care and Doppler assessments.
- Remove sutures and perform new patient medicals, urinalysis, and travel assessments.
- Administer vaccinations and perform ECGs, asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry, and venepuncture.
- Manage hypertension and assist with minor surgery and coil fittings.
- Request pathology tests, such as urine culture and swabs, and follow agreed clinical protocols.
- Maintain and clean equipment used by nurses and GPs, and ensure the cleanliness of treatment rooms.
- Participate in administrative systems and maintain accurate records.
- Attend and participate in practice meetings, and undertake home visits as required.
