About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Construction Manager to join our team at SSE Enterprise. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and commissioning of major transmission overhead lines in the East of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the SSE Enterprise business on-site and serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the project is executed in accordance with relevant requirements, including statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, and quality and technical compliance.
  • Interact proactively with contractors and the Operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the community, promoting a collaborative safety culture.
Requirements
  • A strong knowledge of electrical plant installation and testing, cabling and wiring standards, and IEE regulations.
  • A strong engineering and construction knowledge, including safety and CDM regulations.
  • HND qualified in engineering or construction management (or equivalent), with experience in site management of complex works in construction/utilities and/or electrical installation.
  • Understanding of NEC forms of contracts and experience as an NEC Supervisor.
  • Effective leadership in challenging environments, with excellent planning, organizing, and communication skills.
