Job Title: Small Works Site Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Small Works Site Manager to join our team at TEXO Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for the supervision of all personnel on site and making day-to-day decisions relating to site operations to ensure they are planned and carried out safely, within budget, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure health and safety standards and regulations are complied with, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
  2. Make fundamental decisions regarding operations on site to maximise margin, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  3. Liaise with the design team regarding drawings and specifications, ensuring Technical Queries (TQs) are implemented in a timely manner.
  4. Supervise site employees, allocating daily work expectations and ensuring work packs and instructions are clearly understood.
  5. Supervise all personnel and non-employees on site, including subcontractors, agency personnel, and work experience placements.
  6. Play an active role in the identification of training and development needs of site employees, ensuring training is implemented as required.
  7. Guarantee quality of work produced by implementing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), issuing defect notices as required, and implementing rectification.
  8. Monitor contract and target programmes to ensure key dates are met, implementing 2-4 week Excel look ahead programmes to ensure all plant, labour, and materials are delivered to meet programme demands.
  9. Discuss and propose programme changes if a better solution is evident, ensuring any changes are approved by the line manager before proceeding.
  10. Review specifications and propose alternatives to increase margin where applicable.
  11. Provide detailed material take-offs, accurately quantifying materials in a timely manner, with backup notes for others to understand.
Candidate Criteria:
  1. Sufficient knowledge and experience of managing the construction of multi-disciplinary highly serviced buildings to demonstrate full competency in site management of such projects.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade, guide, and motivate others.
  3. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  4. Computer Literacy – including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
Desirable Criteria:
  1. Minimum 2 years project supervising experience, including directing site works and project management.
  2. Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice.
  3. Ability to demonstrate experience of effectively dealing with operational issues, opportunities, and obstacles.
