Job Title: Small Works Site Manager

TEXO Recruitment are delighted to be representing a well-established privately owned construction group renowned for excellence in construction, house building, and civil engineering.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Small Works Site Manager to oversee the supervision of all personnel on site and make day-to-day decisions relating to site operations to ensure they are planned and carried out safely, within budget, and to a high standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulations
  2. Make strategic decisions regarding site operations to maximise margin
  3. Liaise with the design team regarding drawings and specifications to ensure timely implementation
  4. Supervise site employees, allocating daily work expectations and ensuring work packs and instructions are clearly understood
  5. Supervise all personnel and non-employees on site, including subcontractors, agency personnel, and work experience placements
  6. Identify training and development needs of site employees and implement training as required
  7. Guarantee quality of work produced by implementing ITP inspections and issuing defect notices as required
  8. Monitor contract and target programmes to ensure key dates are met and implement 2-4 week Excel look ahead programmes
  9. Discuss and propose programme changes if a better solution is evident, subject to line manager approval
  10. Review specifications and propose alternatives to increase margin where applicable
  11. Provide detailed material take-offs, accurately quantifying materials timeously
Candidate Criteria:
  1. Sufficient knowledge and experience of managing the construction of multi-disciplinary highly serviced buildings to demonstrate full competency in site management
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade, guide, and motivate others
  3. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  4. Computer literacy, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
Desirable Criteria:
  1. Minimum 2 years project supervising experience, including directing site works and project management
  2. Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice
  3. Ability to demonstrate experience of effectively dealing with operational issues, opportunities, and obstacles
