Mercure Walton Hall Hotel is seeking a Conference and Events Operations Supervisor

The Role:

We are looking for a skilled Conference and Events Operations Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of conferences and events, prioritizing guest satisfaction and maintaining high standards. To excel in this position, you should be passionate about delivering exceptional service and have the motivation to make every event unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to senior management and other managers within the hotel.
  • Collaborate closely with the head of Meetings & Events and the Food & Beverage Manager to enhance standards, processes, products, and subsequently M&E revenues.
  • Manage the scheduling of the M&E team’s absences and holiday requests to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Work with the head of Meetings & Events to establish targets for F&B revenue to meet budgetary goals.
  • Oversee F&B expenditures related to your department.
  • Ensure M&E standards are upheld according to the brand's SOPs, adopting best practices and passing brand audits.
  • Assist the head of Meetings & Events with client interactions and requirements to optimize relationships and revenue generation.
  • Cultivate and maintain respect among guests, staff, and management.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and capabilities of the M&E team through personal development plans and training sessions addressing key needs.
  • Foster teamwork within your department by hosting regular team meetings, either in person or virtually.
  • Maintain high health and safety standards and collectively prepare for and pass health and safety audits.
  • Be present during weddings and significant events, including holiday parties.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure management coverage in both departments, including during each other's absences.
  • Cover duty manager shifts as required.
