Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Note Taker to provide academic support to students with visual impairments at Senclude Limited. As a Note Taker, you will be responsible for electronically taking notes in lectures, seminars, and tutorials, and providing support to students with visual impairments in accessing resources on and around campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electronically take notes in lectures, seminars, and tutorials for students with visual impairments.
  • Provide support to students with visual impairments in accessing resources on and around campus.
  • Work in a professional, helpful, and flexible manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Produce notes that are clear, complete, and legibly written.
  • Manage paperwork effectively, including filling in timesheets accurately and promptly.
  • Attend relevant training or meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • Have a device such as a laptop with WIFI connectivity.
  • Have a mobile data plan to access online resources when WIFI is not available.
  • Be a proficient and accurate typist.
  • Hold a current DBS certificate or register for one.
  • Be registered as Self-Employed.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree or professional work experience.
  • Mandatory qualification in Note Taking for Students with a Visual Impairment.
  • Quick and accurate typing skills.
  • Adaptable with time.
  • IT literate.
  • Excellent literacy skills.

Working Arrangements:

The working hours will vary according to the needs of the student and the academic timetable. All Note Takers are currently paid on a self-employed basis, responsible for paying their own National Insurance Contributions and Income Tax.
