The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Specialty Doctor in Neuropsychiatry to join our dynamic team at St George's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing service and work alongside experienced consultant colleagues within a multidisciplinary environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with neuropsychiatric disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the patient, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in clinical audits and service development initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Contribute to teaching and training programs for medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.

Essential Requirements

  • Completion of at least four years of full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent), with a minimum of two years in a relevant specialty training program or as a fixed-term trainee.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and the functions of Mental Health Review Tribunals and Hospital Managers' Hearings.
  • Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in managing functional neurological disorders.
  • Expertise in delivering psychological and behavioral treatments for neuropsychiatric conditions.
  • Familiarity with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
