Job Title: English Tutor

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Tutor to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As an English Tutor, you will work closely with students on a 1-1 basis, providing high-quality English sessions to maximise their potential across the subject.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, create, and deliver engaging English sessions to students who are currently working below expectations.
  • Apply a variety of behavioural strategies to ensure students are engaged and motivated.
  • Have an awareness of each student's needs and interests, using this to create a child-centred approach to learning.
  • Assess students, provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes, and plan next steps.
Requirements:
  • Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teacher Status, QTS).
  • A strong subject knowledge of the English Curriculum.
  • Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH, and other additional needs.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce only DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase one via Teaching Personnel (support for obtaining one can be provided).
  • Professional references from your two most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10-year career history.
