Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Governance Lead to join our team at Barratt Developments. As a key member of our tax function, you will be responsible for delivering integrated, high-quality, and efficient tax systems, processes, and governance frameworks across our enlarged group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with each business to understand and document tax systems and processes, covering corporate tax, VAT, SDLT, CIS, employment taxes, and transfer pricing.
  • Develop and implement tax governance and management frameworks, including tax strategy, SAO, CCO, and tax governance framework.
  • Identify areas for improvement and changes to processes using technology to drive efficiencies and increase quality.
  • Assess tax risk and develop plans to address them.
  • Deliver robust and efficient tax systems, processes, and governance frameworks.
Requirements
  • Strong UK tax background with 7+ years of experience in industry.
  • Excellent UK tax technical knowledge with experience of working across different taxes.
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified.
  • Experience of implementing tax technology solutions.
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to deliver robust, pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly and concisely.
