Safety Improvement Coordinator

Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the patient safety division to provide coverage for maternity leave for a duration of 12 months.
The Patient Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective execution of the UHD Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
This position is designed to assist in the administration of PSIRF and promote the dissemination of insights and enhancements in patient safety throughout the Trust. The individual in this role will be tasked with coordinating the learning derived from patient safety occurrences within their designated care group and will aid the Patient Safety and Risk team in the daily governance of insights from reported incidents.
The Patient Safety Coordinator will collaborate with the Patient Safety Facilitator to identify emerging patterns and trends in incident data.
Base Location: Poole Hospital
Interview Date: TBC
Key Responsibilities
The individual will facilitate the establishment of effective systems to gather, monitor, review, and learn from patient safety occurrences. They will assist in the implementation of the Trust PSIRF Plan and guide staff to available support resources and guidance. The individual will support the execution of the Trust's Patient Safety Strategy. The individual may be requested to assist local quality patient safety initiatives and improvement projects where a Patient Safety Investigator has determined that the enhancement pertains to local systems rather than a Trust-wide action. The individual will compile, monitor, and assist in the closure of learning actions and improvement plans resulting from patient safety investigations. The individual will generate high-quality reports at various levels across the organization for groups, committees, and individual safety initiatives. The individual will work effectively under the guidance of the Patient Safety Facilitator to ensure that high performance standards are upheld.About Us
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.
UHD is investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.
This means that some services may transition sites in the near future, either temporarily or long-term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.
