About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our New Product Development (NPD) and Engineering Process Development (EPD) initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and process improvements across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective NPD and EPD strategies to meet customer category plans and company objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver NPD and EPD projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine product concepts and ensure manufacturing standards are met.
  • Manage development work across the site to ensure projects are delivered to required cost and within agreed timescales.
  • Accountable for all stages of critical path of projects, with a deep understanding of the implications and effects of deviations.
  • Lead process team documentation to support product development to an auditable standard.
  • Lead the launch of products to agreed standards, including launch meetings, trial runs, and efficient handover to Technical and production teams.
  • Drive proactive process development initiatives to push production boundaries and improve efficiency.
  • Support post-launch review and assessment of product quality, solve manufacturing problems, and identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities.
  • Promote a health and safety culture by following all H&S requirements during kitchen and process development work.
  • Line management responsibilities, including regular 121 sessions, team updates, and issue escalation.
Requirements
  • Passion for food and a desire to continue a career in food manufacturing.
  • Experience in managing people with a development function.
  • HACCP / Food Safety Training.
  • Experience working with own label chilled foods.
  • Experience of dealing with customer relationships.
  • HND/Degree in a food-based or manufacturing subject (desirable).
