Job Title: Service Delivery Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Service Delivery Coordinator to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Pathology Clinical Support Unit, you will be responsible for leading the service through the expanding demand of genomic testing and the new laboratory information management system (LIMS) to maximize quality and productivity.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the direct delivery of the 24/7 service provided by the department across all sites of two Trusts.
  • Manage the overall performance, including recruitment, performance, appraisal, and training of all staff in the department, except for medical staff and clinical scientists.
  • Develop and implement departmental policy, accreditation, service improvement, and service development across the health economy.
  • Ensure the delivery of national and local targets.
  • Contribute to and implement CSU policy, service improvement, service development, strategic development, and business planning.

Person Specification:
  • Essential:
    • Managerial experience
    • Evidence of current CPD portfolio
    • Willingness to undertake further training as agreed
  • Qualifications:
    • Accredited Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the Health Professions Council (HPA)
    • HPC registration
  • Skills & behaviors:
    • Evidence of an understanding and application of service improvement techniques
    • Demonstrate and maintain a clear understanding of the contribution the service makes to key national agendas
    • Knowledge of conventional IT business software e.g., Microsoft Office
    • Excellent management and leadership skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work flexibly to ensure a high-quality service
    • Excellent time management
