Job Overview

We are pleased to announce an opening for a Senior Finance Business Partner within our vibrant Finance, Portfolio and Performance (FPP) team. This permanent position plays a pivotal role in steering the House of Commons' strategic initiatives and corporate objectives through precise financial planning, performance evaluation, and support for various projects and programs.

Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be essential in fostering robust relationships across the organization, promoting effective financial stewardship, and embedding financial principles and public value into the core of decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will include bridging the Finance Business Partnering Team with the central financial management unit, facilitating constructive dialogues, and enhancing financial methodologies.

Your expertise in strategic planning, reporting, and analysis will be vital in aiding long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and investment evaluations.

Senior Finance Business Partners are expected to be business-savvy professionals with exceptional interpersonal abilities, adept at translating and presenting intricate financial data in an understandable manner. You will deliver critical financial counsel, strategic insights, and business solutions to senior directors and budget holders, particularly in complex financial scenarios.

Stakeholder Engagement

Effective stakeholder engagement and leadership are crucial. You will cultivate and sustain key relationships, manage expectations of senior managers and stakeholders, and develop a comprehensive understanding of the commercial and operational dynamics of the business. Prior experience in line management is preferred.

Candidate Requirements

Criterion 1: A professional finance qualification (CCAB or equivalent) is essential.

Criterion 3: Proven ability to influence at all organizational levels, employing logical persuasion and consensus-building techniques.

Criterion 4: Demonstrated leadership skills, with the capability to motivate and develop a diverse finance team while promoting excellence.

Criterion 5: Highly skilled in utilizing and interpreting data and analytics to support decision-making processes, identifying data gaps, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance reporting as necessary.
